Tom is Supporting the Lyric Hammersmith, and You Can, Too!
May 21st, 2010 by Katie received Comments OffTom made his stage debut at the Lyric Hammersmith theater, and now he’s giving something back. The theater, founded in 1895, will host a party called “Light Up the Lyric’s Future” in order to raise money for a £15 million project. Tom is listed as a party supporter. The theater’s project will support the community and you can read a more in-depth description of exactly what the project is after the jump.
If you want to help a good cause, enjoy a “fabulous party,” and watch “extradordinary and unexpected entertainment,” the party is on Thursday, June 10th, and tickets are £195.
The theater is also running a project of the same name as its current play,”A Thousand Stars Explode in the Sky,” in which they’re asking for 1000 donations of 10 pounds each. Donations support the same project as the launch party. So far they’ve only received 8 donations.
More details after the jump.
From the theater’s website:
The Lyric builds the UK’s first teaching theatre for the Performing Arts.
This autumn, the Lyric will begin work on a £13.5 million capital development project to extend its current building, creating new teaching facilities for the performing arts for local young people.
This new learning space will pioneer the delivery of a range of nationally accredited qualifications including the new Creative and Media Diploma and the Creative Apprenticeship, as well as offering lots of arts activities for young people to take part in during their leisure time.
The new facilities will be housed in a site directly adjacent and linked to the Lyric’s existing building, and are scheduled to open in September 2011.
