Retro Rewind: Tom as Edward Cullen

I’d never even heard of Tom Sturridge back then!” But I actually mean, drumroll……Stephenie Meyer. The book’s author listed Tom first in her list of realistic options for the role of Edward.

We also bring you this little gem; it’s a petition for Tom as Edward. It has 591 signatures on it. People also kept signing it after Rob was cast in the role. Observe this disgruntled post:
OMFG!!! My friend and I thought Tom would be perfect as Edward. But No they had to choose Robert Patterson. Man they need to redo the whole intire movie with Tom!
They must’ve cast Robert Pattinson by mistake. Bet that Robert Patterson guy is kicking himself now.

i guess all of rob's hater before can swallow their words now..
i like Tom stu, but think he is too girly face for being edward..
You're kiling me with this, you know. I recall reading that page ages ago, before I saw the movies and had no idea who Tom was then… Aaagghhh! Stephenie was so on the money!! The only issue for me would have been the hair colour. If Edward could have been left with dark brown/black hair, then Tom all the way. But I really wonder how he would look with Edward's supposed hair colour.
Hehe, I bet he's glad, when he looks at the madness that is Rob's life, that he didn't get cast as Edward…
